The Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar has over 21,000 members. All lawyers under age 36 and new Florida Bar members for the first 5 years in good standing are automatically members.
The purpose of the Young Lawyers Division is to stimulate and encourage the interest and participation of division members in the purposes of The Florida Bar. The YLD provides a full and complete program of activities and projects designed to be of interest and assistance to members, and to engage in such activities as shall tend to further the best interests of the legal profession.
The YLD is engaged in numerous programs that benefit The Florida Bar, young lawyers and the general public. For example, the YLD has responsibility within The Florida Bar for providing basic level continuing legal education opportunities, including the Practicing with Professionalism program, which all new members of The Florida Bar are required to attend
Our Purpose
The purpose of the Young Lawyers Division is to assist The Florida Bar in its purposes, to stimulate and encourage the interest and participation of YLD members in the programs of The Florida Bar, to provide a full and complete program of activities and projects designed to be of interest and assistance to YLD members, and to engage in such activities as shall tend to further the best interests of the legal profession. The section coordinates the activities of YLD members and to serve as a medium for fostering discussion and free interchange of ideas relative to the duties, responsibilities and problems of YLD members.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION: All members receive publications, are encouraged to participate in the committees, and are offered an opportunity to network with legal professionals with similar interests. All under-36 lawyers and new Florida Bar members for the first 5 years in good standing are automatically members.
